1. Vince Carter. Carter is the perfect balance of solid defense, solid 3PT output, solid penetration and solid scoring, as well as being the best dunker in the game. His contract's not McGrady-size; it can be dealt. Washington might be particularly interested, as I mentioned before.
2. Ray Allen. One of the best pure shooters in history, Ray Allen's still got hops. It's questionable whether Boston will actually part with one of its big three, but rumors as dumb as Amare and Barbosa for Allen and Rondo have been marching on, so...you never know.
3. Allen Iverson. Iverson is an incredible player with a lot of talent, but his talent demands the ball. He needs to start and get 20 touches or he'll never get "in a rhythm." Some just want that ridiculous scoring talent. Charlotte's made some overtures to Iverson as Larry Brown was his old coach. Expect Minnesota to make an offer.
4. Manu Ginobili. As the Spurs will rebuild this summer, expect Ginobili to get traded, ultimately. His defense is great, his per-minute stats are pretty much the best. Give him 17 minutes and he'll give you 17 points. Give him 30 minutes and he'll give you 30 points. Give him 40, and he'll give you 40. I could see Denver being interested, given a 3 way involving Nene.
5. Ben Gordon. Possibly, no one will be interested in a shoot-first shooting guard, who's kind of doing what he's supposed to do. Possibly, the Bulls will be the only interested candidates. Possibly, plenty will be interested in a pure shooter like Ben Gordon. Either way, Ben Gordon shoots well, which is worth something.
6. James Harden. A rookie, I know, but a solid one. He kind of reminds me of Iceman. And I love Iceman.
7. Stephen Jackson. A great player. If you take a look at his assist numbers, they're pretty ridiculous for anyone but a PG. He could actually run the point if you let him, probably. Crouching tiger, hidden Iverson. Truthfully, though, his contract's huge. It's pretty impossible to trade him. He also can't play defense. Toronto might be interested...maybe?
8. Michael Redd. From this point on, I'm talking about 2nd tier talent. Michael Redd can give you 20, maybe even 30 points on any given night, and he can break apart zone defenses like a nutshell, but other than that, he's not worth much. He's available, but not....wanted.
9. Tracy McGrady. McGrady has a huge expiring contract. That's about the best thing he's got going for him. He can't really shoot all that well. He averaged 16 PPG in '08-'09, which is...not Tracy McGrady standard. If you need cap relief in an AI-to-Detroit type move, go for it. Otherwise, don't bother.
10. Jason Richardson. Meh.
